Amanda Barta|Doula, Mother, Mentor

Hello and Welcome! I’m Amanda

I’m a doula, wife, and mother of five. From a young age, I’ve been drawn to the role of nurturer, always in a position to offer help and care. Over the years, this natural inclination has evolved into a passion for pregnancy and birth. But it wasn’t until I experienced the transformative power of a home birth with our fourth child that I truly felt called to serve women during this sacred time—empowering them, supporting them, and nurturing them through one of life’s most profound experiences.

I’ve given birth in both the hospital and at home, each experience vastly different but equally impactful. It is because of these varied experiences that I approach each birth with a deep sense of respect for the unique path every mother walks. I believe in providing comfort and encouragement, but I also gently challenge the norms of birth culture to help women confidently make informed choices.

In addition to my passion for birth work, I am deeply committed to building a strong community for my clients and their families. I believe in holding space for mothers and offering the resources, support, and connections they need to feel empowered, supported, and nurtured as they transition into parenthood.

Outside of my work as a doula, I am a homeschooling mom to my children. Last year we moved into Duluth from out in the country. We love being near community and the bauty and wilderness Duluth has to offer. You’ll often find me barefoot in the garden, chasing my kids on outdoor adventures, or diving into new hobbies with my family. We live life with open hearts and a deep connection to the earth.
