Birth and Postpartum Doula Services
What Is A Doula
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to a birthing person before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Unlike medical staff, doulas do not perform clinical tasks; instead, they focus on the holistic well-being of the birthing individual, offering personalized care tailored to their needs.
What Do They Do
During pregnancy, a birth doula:
Talks about your preferences and answers questions.
Gives reliable information to help you make choices.
Offers emotional support and reassurance.
Helps create a birth plan and prepares your partner.
During labor and birth, a birth doula:
Provides continuous one-on-one support.
Suggests comfort techniques like breathing and massage.
Creates a calm atmosphere for relaxation.
Helps you communicate with medical staff.
Encourages and empowers you.
After birth, a birth doula:
Supports bonding and breastfeeding.
Listens as you reflect on your birth experience.
Ensures emotional support during the postpartum period.

Maybe you’re not totally sold on hiring a birth doula — and that’s okay. You still deserve support. This one-time session is a great option for those who want guidance, clarity, and confidence heading into birth… without the full doula package.
If you’re planning a hospital birth, you’ll likely be faced with a variety of options, decisions, and interventions — many of which aren’t fully explained in the moment. That’s where this session comes in.
We’ll sit down together (in person or virtually) and walk through:
What to expect during hospital birth and how to navigate it with intention
The stages of labor and what’s actually happening in your body
How to build a birth plan that reflects your values and preferences
Tools for informed consent and empowered decision-making
Ideas for creating a calming birth space, even in a hospital setting
Your pain management options — from natural coping tools to medicated choices
Newborn procedures and how to approach them with confidence
And yes, we’ll also touch on your postpartum recovery and how to start preparing now
This session is educational, supportive, and tailored to you. You’ll leave feeling grounded, prepared, and equipped to confidently advocate for yourself — because birth isn’t something that just happens to you. You have a voice in all of it.
Let’s help you own your birth story — no matter where or how you choose to give birth.

The labor blueprint: stages of labor, what’s happening in the body, and what it feels like
Your birth preferences and how to advocate for them
Common fears and concerns — and how to reframe them into strength and readiness
Partner roles and comfort measures to keep you feeling safe and supported
Building birth affirmations that reflect your vision and power

My Philosophy for Doula Support
I didn’t always know what birth could be.
With my first birth, I had no idea what a doula was. I lacked the knowledge of physiological birth — the understanding that my body was made to birth my baby — and I lacked the deep, steady support that every birthing woman deserves. The kind of support that goes beyond squeezing a hand or rubbing a back.
What I didn’t know then was how much I needed the circle and wisdom of the women who came before me — the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters who have gathered around each other for centuries. Women have always supported women in birth, whether in caves, fields, or small rooms filled with hands ready to hold and hearts ready to encourage. That deep tradition of connection is at the heart of how I now support my clients.
I believe, with every fiber of my being, that you are instinctively and physiologically capable of birthing your baby.
My own experiences — hospital births, a planned home birth, and the early, tender stages of pregnancy and motherhood — taught me what truly matters: strong support, quality education, and a team that believes in you. I remember the excitement, confusion, nervousness... and later, the peace and power that came from being surrounded by the right people. Those fundamental pieces — connection, education, and empowerment — are what I now offer to every family I serve.
When you choose me as your doula, you’re choosing personalized support that honors your unique birth plan, whether you’re birthing at a hospital, a birth center, or at home. Every woman deserves to feel educated, empowered, and safe during birth. I’m committed to creating deep, trusting relationships with my clients — relationships where you feel held, seen, and truly known.
I believe in the power of community and education, which is why I also offer group classes and community-centered birth education. For my clients, I am a steady source of emotional support, physical comfort, and evidence-based information. I help you navigate the months of pregnancy, provide hands-on support during birth, and create a space where informed choices are honored and celebrated.
Most of all, I want my clients to feel like they’re sitting in the safe, welcoming presence of an old friend — someone who will gently remind them, when they’re tired or unsure, just how powerful they truly are.
My care doesn’t end at birth.
Because the journey into motherhood continues, I offer postpartum support and placenta encapsulation services to help nourish and strengthen you during the sacred fourth trimester.
